WATER TEMP. - low to mid 70s
WATER COND. - The lake is still very low. Recent rains have improved the level a bit, but it still is about 18 inches low. Very little water is in the grassy edges.

FISHING REPORT
largemouth bass - Due to low water, action has been slow, but a few fish are being caught on slow moving plastics.
NOTE: As of July 2002, Lake Phelps has a slot limit for bass and has been designated as a "Trophy" lake. No fish under 14 inches may be in possession. No fish between 16 and 20 inches may be in possession. Still a five fish limit.
bream (pumpkinseed) - Some are being caught in deeper water. Nightcrawlers are best bet.
yellow (raccoon)perch - Some are being caught, but water levels has them scattered. Minnows (small) and beetle spin type lures are best bets.
catfish - some white and yellow cats are being caught on cut bait and minnows.
